What Is MGF?
Mechano Growth Factor (MGF) is a splice variant of IGF-1 that is expressed locally in muscle tissue in response to mechanical stress, stretch, or injury. Unlike systemic IGF-1, MGF has a shorter half-life and different C-terminal sequence, giving it unique receptor affinities that promote local protein synthesis, prevent apoptosis, and stimulate satellite cell activation for tissue repair and remodeling.
