What Is LGD-4033?
LGD-4033 (Ligandrol) is a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) that binds to androgen receptors with high affinity and selectivity, producing anabolic effects on muscle and bone tissue with reduced androgenic activity compared to traditional steroids. Originally developed for therapeutic applications in muscle wasting, sarcopenia, and osteoporosis, it has been prohibited in sports by WADA since 2018 and is not FDA-approved for any use.
LGD-4033 Research & Studies

*Based on large scale analysis of publicly available user experiences
User sentiment is predominantly negative, with concerns about hepatotoxicity, testosterone suppression, and questionable risk-benefit profiles dominating discussions. Most experienced users warn against use, noting that even low doses cause suppression and that the muscle gains don't justify the health risks.
LGD-4033 Benefits, Dosage & Side Effects
- Muscle Growth: Users report modest increases in lean mass and strength, though less dramatic than expected from anabolic compounds
- Testosterone Suppression: Even low doses (2-5mg) cause noticeable suppression of natural testosterone production according to user experiences
- Energy Changes: Some users report initial energy improvements, but many experience fatigue and decreased performance over time
- Body Composition: Increases in body mass and lean tissue noted, though often accompanied by water retention and fat gain
- Dose-Response: Research shows dose-dependent effects on lean mass (0.1-1.0mg studied), but users commonly take much higher doses (5-10mg) with diminishing returns
- Muscle Building: Effectiveness for muscle growth appears modest compared to traditional steroids, with users reporting it works but requires proper diet and training
- Suppression Trade-off: The degree of testosterone suppression appears disproportionate to the anabolic benefits gained, making risk-benefit ratio unfavorable
- Recovery Claims: Limited evidence for enhanced recovery, with some users reporting worse recovery due to hormonal disruption
- Microdosing: Studies examined 0.5-3mg doses, which show minimal suppression but also limited benefits according to user reports
- Common User Doses: 5-10mg daily is typical among users seeking muscle gains, though this significantly increases suppression risk
- Cycle Length: 8-week cycles are commonly discussed, with users reporting diminishing returns and increased side effects beyond this period
- PCT Requirements: Post-cycle therapy (Nolvadex/Clomid) is considered necessary by users even at moderate doses due to suppression
- Hepatotoxicity: Multiple case reports document severe liver injury with elevated enzymes, jaundice, and cholestatic patterns requiring months for recovery
- Hormonal Disruption: Significant suppression of testosterone and FSH reported, with users experiencing low libido, fatigue, and mood changes
- Lipid Profile Changes: Negative impacts on cholesterol levels noted in research and user experiences, potentially increasing cardiovascular risk
- Long-term Concerns: Users report prolonged recovery times (3+ months) for hormone normalization after cessation, with some experiencing persistent issues
- Legal Status: Banned by WADA for athletic use; not FDA-approved for any indication; considered a research chemical with unclear legal status for personal use
- Black Market Issues: Studies show products sold online often contain incorrect doses, unlisted ingredients, or contamination with other compounds
- Research Chemical Sources: Primarily available through online research chemical sources, with significant quality control and purity concerns raised by users
