What Is KPV?
KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is a naturally occurring tripeptide derived from the C-terminal sequence of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). It exerts potent anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects by inhibiting NF-kappaB signaling and modulating inflammatory cytokines, primarily used for gastrointestinal disorders and skin conditions.
KPV Research & Studies
01 Orally Targeted Delivery of Tripeptide KPV via Hyaluronic Acid-Functionalized Nanoparticles Efficiently Alleviates Ulcerative Colitis ▸
This study demonstrates that KPV effectively attenuates inflammatory responses in the colon and can be successfully delivered via nanoparticles to treat ulcerative colitis.
View Study (PubMed)02 Effects of the COOH-terminal tripeptide alpha-MSH(11-13) on corneal epithelial wound healing: role of nitric oxide ▸
KPV was found to facilitate the reparative processes and speed up wound healing in corneal epithelial tissues through its anti-inflammatory properties.

Research shows KPV protects skin cells from oxidative damage and inflammation by modulating the MAPK/NF-κB pathway.
View Study (PubMed)04 A KPV-binding double-network hydrogel restores gut mucosal barrier in an inflamed colon ▸
The study found that KPV-loaded hydrogels specifically adhere to inflamed colonic mucosa, restoring the gut barrier and reducing localized inflammation.

*Based on large scale analysis of publicly available user experiences
Users report significant success in managing chronic inflammatory conditions like eczema and IBS, often describing rapid relief from redness and itching when other treatments failed.
KPV Benefits, Dosage & Side Effects
- Skin Repair: Users report a drastic reduction in eczema-related redness, itching, and inflammation within days.
- Gut Healing: Research and anecdotal evidence suggest it helps restore the intestinal barrier and reduce symptoms of Crohn's and UC.
- Systemic Anti-Inflammation: Reported benefits for joint and tendon discomfort even when used primarily for skin or gut issues.
- Microbiome Modulation: When used in probiotic combinations (as in CKD trials), it helps reduce uremic toxins and improve gut flora balance.
- Speed of Action: Skin-related improvements are often noted within 3 to 10 days of starting a cycle.
- Targeted Delivery: Research indicates KPV is most effective when delivered via specialized carriers (nanoparticles or hydrogels) for gut conditions.
- Synergy: Often stacked with BPC-157 for enhanced healing of the mucosal lining and connective tissues.
- Inflammatory Focus: Highly effective at reducing CRP and BUN levels in chronic disease states when combined with dietary management.
- Subcutaneous Injection: A common user dosage is 0.5mg (500mcg) pinned daily for 10-20 day cycles.
- Oral Supplementation: Often found in multi-strain probiotic capsules containing 45 billion CFU for metabolic and kidney health.
- Topical Application: Research suggest concentrations of 1-10 mg/ml are effective for localized tissue healing.
- Stacked Dosing: Frequently included in complex 'recovery' stacks at approximately 3.175mg per week.
- Minimal Reported: Users generally report high tolerance with few acute side effects compared to traditional steroids.
- Appetite Suppression: Some users mention feeling 'over' meals quickly, though this is often associated with other peptides in a stack like Retatrutide.
- Potential Herxheimer Reaction: In certain gut protocols, shifts in microbiota can cause temporary metabolic distress.
- Injection Site Irritation: Standard risk associated with subcutaneous administration of peptides.
- Research Chemicals: Primarily sourced through peptide sources rather than standard supplement retailers.
- Combining Agents: Frequently sold in formulations mixed with BPC-157 ARG or HCL for gut health.
