What Is HUMANIN?
Humanin is a 24-amino acid mitochondrial-derived peptide (MDP) that acts as a potent cytoprotective and neuroprotective factor. It works by inhibiting apoptosis through interactions with Bax and Bcl-2 proteins and by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation across multiple organ systems.

HUMANIN Benefits, Dosage & Side Effects
- Neuroprotection: Effectively prevents neuronal cell death and cognitive decline associated with aging and amyloid toxicity
- Metabolic Improvement: Increases insulin sensitivity and improves glucose metabolism in animal and cellular models
- Cytoprotection: Shields various cell types from stress-induced apoptosis by modulating Bax and IGFBP-3 pathways
- Anti-Inflammatory: Reduces systemic inflammation and lowers markers of oxidative stress throughout the body
- Cognition: Highly effective at preserving memory and learning capabilities in aging populations
- Longevity: Strongly correlated with healthspan extension and preserved mitochondrial function
- Cardiovascular: Shows significant promise in protecting vascular endothelium and preventing atherosclerosis
- Animal Models: Exceptional results in rodents, though human clinical trial data for direct supplementation is still emerging
- HNG Analog: The potent derivative HNG is often preferred in research settings due to its 1000-fold higher activity than natural Humanin
- Frequency: Research protocols often utilize twice-weekly administration for healthspan maintenance
- Administration: Typically administered via subcutaneous injection in experimental settings for optimal bioavailability
- Biological Markers: Circulating levels naturally decline with age, making 'replacement' levels a target for longevity enthusiasts
- Minimal Risks: Humanin is an endogenous peptide, and studies generally report an excellent safety profile with few side effects
- Injection Site Irritation: As with most peptide injections, localized redness or soreness may occur
- Potential Growth Interaction: High levels are found in centenarians, but its interaction with growth hormone pathways requires careful monitoring
- Theoretical Concerns: Long-term effects of chronic supra-physiological levels in humans remain largely unstudied
- Research Chemicals: Primarily available through peptide supply companies for laboratory and research use
- Endogenous Boosting: Lifestyle factors like exercise and cold exposure are sometimes discussed as natural ways to support Humanin levels
- Regulatory Status: Not currently FDA-approved for human medical treatment, strictly classified as a research compound
